Dripstone Lava Farm in Minecraft

One contained lava source slowly fills a cauldron through pointed dripstone. Empty it with a bucket to collect renewable lava.

A lava source sits on a dripstone block with a downward-pointing stalactite attached underneath. The aligned empty cauldron fills over time without consuming the source. This model shows the empty cauldron before its first refill. Harvesting is manual; a full cauldron cannot store another bucket. This original layout has not been tested in game.

Materials

• 30× Stone bricks
• 1× Dripstone block
• 1× Pointed dripstone
• 1× Cauldron
• 1× Lava
• 1× Lava bucket

Build steps

1. Build the base and pillars: Build the 3x4 stone-brick base at y=0. Raise three-block pillars at (0, 0) and (2, 0) in x/z, occupying y=1 through y=3.
2. Place the cauldron: Place the empty cauldron at (1, 1, 1), on the base between the two pillars.
3. Build the lava tank: Build the 3x3 ceiling at y=4, using dripstone block at (1, 4, 1). Add the four tank walls shown at y=5. Leave the center empty.
4. Attach the stalactite: Attach the pointed dripstone downward at (1, 3, 1), underneath the dripstone block. Keep (1, 2, 1) empty above the cauldron.
5. Fill the tank: Pour the lava bucket into (1, 5, 1), directly above the dripstone block. Keep the resulting empty bucket for harvesting.
6. Wait and collect lava: Stay nearby so random ticks run. From the open south side, use the empty bucket on the cauldron when it fills, then empty the bucket before the next harvest.
